Australian 2012 Fungi Festival: 26-30 April 2012

In April 2012 Fungimap, in partnership with NRM South, will be holding a Fungi Festival in Hobart, Tasmania. The Festival includes:

  • Symposium: Conservation and Management of Fungi (Thursday 26th and Friday 27th)
  • Debate: Eating wild fungi: fun or foolhardy? (Friday 27th)
  • Workshops and forays: focussing on fungi in the field and their identification, survey and documentation (Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th)
  • Training sessions for fungi tools in the Atlas of Living Australia (Monday 30th)

I was at tea break outside the government offices at Huonville the other day and saw some unusual fungi.  They may not be unusual to you, but I have never seen them before.  Large as dinner platters, bright red with white spots.
