The foray is full and registrations have now closed.
Venue: Netherlands Society Hall Rotorua
Timing: Hall open from 4:00pm Sunday 21st May, foray closes 10:00am Saturday 27th May. All attendees to be in the hall from 8:00am Monday 22nd May for karakia, welcome, and briefing.
Colloquium day: Wednesday 24th May at Scion from 9:00am. All attendees will need to arrive at 9:00am unless prior arrangements have been made.
Meals: Those attending the foray for the whole week can purchase a dinner plan, or a lunch and dinner plan. Lunches will be pre-filled rolls with additional snack items added by us in the morning before departure – preparation 8:00am – 8:30am daily. All those attending the colloquium will receive lunch. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm nightly at the Good Eastern Taphouse from Sunday – Friday inclusive: https://goodeastern.nz. One course will be served with a small set menu offered – desserts etc can be purchased separately. It will be possible to purchase single meals directly from the restaurant if the event manager is informed by 9:00am on the day the meal is required.
Optional bus trip: You have the option to attend a day trip to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari: https://www.sanctuarymountain.co.nz/home. This spectacular fenced sanctuary hosts extensive forests and can be expected to furnish a wide variety of fungi. To foray here you need to join the bus trip – the fee is for bus hire and for a small donation to the sanctuary. The bus will leave from the hall at 8:30am Tuesday morning. [BUS TRIP NOW FULL]
Registration options: You can register for the whole week, or for the Monday/Tuesday. These two options both include FUNNZ membership. All full-week options include the colloquium day, however it is also possible to purchase this day in addition to Monday/Tuesday or independently – i.e. to only attend the colloquium day. Registrations will be capped at 70 so you are advised to register in a timely fashion. Please note your registration will not be confirmed until you have paid.
Locations: Details about locations will be provided closer to the time but you will be able to foray in a wide variety of forests around Rotorua including conservation and scenic reserves and the Redwood Forest.
